CPR / AED training: increase survival from sudden cardiac arrest. Sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) is a major cause of death in the United States, claiming nearly a 1,000 lives a day. It often strikes without warning. Its victims aren't confined to people with pre-existing heart conditions. Athletes and the young can experience SCA too.

A major cause of death in the United States

In the United States, an estimated 250,000 victims of SCA die each year because help doesn't get to them in time. The first three to five minutes are critical.

In situations like these, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is a proven life saver. ASHI—St. John CPR training is among the best in the business, giving you the skills you need for a swift, effective response.

CPR is just part of the life-saving story. Automated external defibrillators (AEDs) are portable, computerized machines that apply an electric shock to the heart of an individual suffering SCA. They're safe, easy-to-use and readily available in many workplaces. In the hands of a trained operator they can improve survival rates by as much as 80%.
